"Why we fight"

By Marcelo

usa-saddam

I just finished watching a recent BBC documentary on the Iraq war entitled "Why we fightOpen in a new window" (click to see on Google Video). It is an hour and half of interviews of many people, from generals to pundits, from senators to soldiers.

    This is totally worth watching.

I think my perspective has changed since I had a sonOpen in a new window 6 months ago. I feel the world is not moving into a good direction.

This is not an anti-war documentary, but it clearly end up looking like that just because it shows the real side of war. The interesting part is that it removes a lot of the blame for the war on Iraq from Bush. The way it presents this war, Bush is just a puppet, or a consequence, of a policy that started at the end WWII.

I wish we didn't have wars, but, if we are going to have one, it should be for a just cause. A cause that is unquestionably a core value in any society. Spreading democracy is not a just cause. Spreading capitalism is not a just cause.

Here is a hint for the next war: The YanomamiOpen in a new window tribe in Brazil. They are clearly not a democratic or capitalist society for hundreds of years.

It is interesting being a Canadian when you talk about war, there are countless comedy shows that make fun of "Canada and our two tank", but in times like these we can rest easy. This of course is always a good feeling with we as adults entire that next stage of our life and have kids - congrats on the new born!

Bush was doing the best he could, with what he knew, and with what he wanted to know, and wanted to not know, and with what he did not know, that he did not know. That was the problem! These were his limits.

I knew there were no tons of WMD's, because I asked the Most High how to find the truth. I listened online to what Scott Ritter had found in spite of the interference of the USA. The same was true of Hans Blix. See this for an example and google Scott and Hans. http://truthout.org/docs_03/041203A.shtml. When Bush believed that Iraq and Sadam had those tons of WMD's, he was believing what he wanted to believe. He wanted to be a "War President", althouth the joke is that the war was never declared by Congress and was not likely to be declared based on the facts.

Why were there no flowers in the streets and why were Iraq people were blowing themselves up to get us and not blowing themselves up to get Sadam? Bush,s cult does not know the answer to that question. It violates their belief systems. They are trapped in their belief systems and axis of evil, until they wake up.
